Just There: Tara Carroll and Eimear Murphy

Tara Carroll and Eimear Murphy are artists based in Dublin. They are presenting the workshop Just There in the context of Tara’s upcoming exhibition, Resonances Ripples, at SIRIUS.

The workshop is prompted by two questions: “Do you feel your body is often excluded when visiting exhibition spaces? Do you feel you can truly take your time and feel safe to intimately engage with the work?”

The artists comment: “In this workshop, we have lots of soft cushions and cosy chats. We explore together how our bodies would like to be positioned to create active engagement using piles of cushions, foam and seating. This informs the creation of sculptural seats for different types of bodies in order to support intimate engagement with works for Tara’s exhibition.”

The artists would like to invite people who feel they would benefit and can contribute to the workshop. They comment further: “Your unique body informs the sculptures and pace of the workshop. We want everyone to feel comfortable and choose how they would like to engage. The workshop caters to people’s access needs to the best of our abilities.”
