Workshop Outline:

Although food waste is never intentional, up to one third of the food purchased in Ireland can end up in the bin. This workshop looks to explore with students where our food comes from around the world, how it travels to Irish shores, the implications this has on our environment in terms of climate change and simple steps that we can take to reduce food waste - including how growing our own can help and how worms can change food waste into a nutrient rich compost.  Each student will also take the first step in helping our environment by planting their own seed to take back to school and watch grow.
