Sail to Sirius
19th Sep 2015
Ferry departs the Port of Cork at 11am
This is a tickets only event (limited availability) soundsfromasafeharbour.com
Sounds from a Safe Harbour is a brand new festival of music, art and conversation, curated by Bruce Dressner and Cork Opera House. Sirius Arts Centre is partnering with the festival to present a unique and special excursion celebrating the essence and energy of the festival. Ticket holders will depart from the Port of Cork by ferry, stopping en route to be serenaded by Landless, a four-part acapella group. On arrival to Sirius they will be treated to lunch (but not as you know it) by the amazing Domestic Godless, who have been a thorn in the foot of Irish gastronomy for over ten years. Following lunch there will be a double bill event by Rainfear (breath-taking hyper-improvisation) and Nad Spiro, former Sirius artist in residence. Nad Spiro considers the harbour as a setting acoustic transit - transmission codes, navigation narratives, signal stations and audio connections in the harbour’s auditory space.
Anticipated return to Cork by 4pm.
